When I start to write my rhymes,
I end up searching for that perfect word,
And that quickly eats away my time.
But I can't stand imperfections
In my writing, and even worse,
Sometimes I lack direction.
Other times, it's like my head gets stuck,
But if I don't finish soon,
I'll be completely out of luck.
The worst of times is when
I just don't feel like writing anything.
I'm completely useless then.
I need to get my head on straight
Because "when the muses move me"
Isn't an acceptable due date

Arceli,
ReplyDeleteI do like the concept of writing about writing - that is actually what I wrote about when I first started writing, so I have a deep connection to this sort of idea - but what I might do is add a little bit more poetic imagery.
Instead of saying "It's like my head gets stuck", say something metaphorically that moves your reader.
Speaking in imagery in poems will help you achieve both simplicity and depth.
